Phil, you absolutely killed them! Tony Leonard said you were far and away the best auctioneer he’d ever seen in action and you made 25% of the total raised by yourself – a great compliment.

I have had many phone calls and letters following the event from our guests stating they have never been to such an event where they were part of a worldwide auction bid. Everyone felt involved both on the floor and overseas.

Mazda Foundation supports Rainforest Rescue at Mission Beach
Wednesday, 26 September 2012
Today we spent time with Rainforest Rescue CEO Kelvin Davies viewing the work done after Cyclone Yasi devastated the Mission Beach area some 18 months ago.Rainforest Rescue are replanting areas with rainforest species to provide much needed habitat for the dwindling population of Cassowarys in the Mission Beach area. The Mazda Foundation provided Rainforest Rescue a grant to fund the replanting of native rain forest. They estimate only 40 Cassowarys remain in the Mission Beach area. The main cause of death of these birds is when stray out of the rainforest onto the roads looking for food and are hit by speeding vehicles.
