Ash Barty takes the Don

I was privileged to be at Crown for the 2019 Sporting Hall of Fame Dinner to witness Ash Barty (No1 in the world) take out this year’s Don award. After she received a standing ovation, to hear her acceptance speech was amazing. She was so natural with no barrow to push, truly humble and extremely gratified to win the coveted award. She said there had been lumps and bumps along the way but together with her team she is thrilled to have reached the top! It was so refreshing. She is such a champion in so many ways!
