Deutscher and Hackett held their Sydney last night to a packed crowd. Offering works from well known names such as Jeffrey Smart, Howard Arkley, Roy de Maistre, Paddy Bedford, John Olsen, Fred Williams, and Arthur Boyd. Others from the likes of Cressida Campbell, Ben Quilty, Gordon Bennett, Danie Mellor, Brooke Andrew and Gwyn Hanssen Pigott were keenly contested. The auction featured works from the Ken and Joan Plomley Collection of Modernist Art and selected works from the pARTners Art Collective. Chris Deutscher reported that over Over 80% of the works had sold on the night with more that will sell within the ensuing days. The sale results for the offering were healthy. The pARTners Collective sold all bar one of their works.
