Tara’s Dream: Fundraising Dinner

Monday, 13 February 2017

Hosted by well known Channel Nine and Geelong Cats Legend, Billy Brownless, “Tara’s Dream” became closer to reality.

The McGowan Family along with Karingal Geelong have committed to build much need housing for people with special needs in the Bellerine area.

This home, Tara’s Dream, will be named in honour of the McGowan’s eldest daughter Tara, who died of an asthma attack at age 23 in 2015.

The event was held at the Melrose Reception Centre in Tullamarine for some 700 people. It was an inspirational evening with a highlight coming from son of Moira Kelly AO,  Emanual Kelly, who has just recently joined Bruno Mars in the US.

Over $227,000 was raised on the night via raffles, silent and a main auction to get closer to the target of $300,000 to complete the home.
