An auction at a fund raising dinner can be just an auction or it can also be part of the entertainment! You succeed in making it both an auction that brings in the money and entertaining at the same time, both for those who were bidding so spiritedly and also for the rest of the audience.

Jeremy Tyrrell and Daniel O’Regan won the Fletchers Senior and Novice Competition respectively at the Clarion Convention Centre last night. CEO Bradley Brown in a communique to the company said ” For a 94 year old company it is not often we can say …..this is the first time we have done\’¦.., but last night at the Clarion we were able to say, Welcome to the Inaugural Fletchers Auction Competition!\’”It was a terrific night attended by about 45 from our group and hosted by Phil de Fegely, who along with Nina and Tracey V coordinated the evening.”
Jeremy saidafterwards, “As mentioned last night, I encourage anyone who aspires to be an auctioneer to get up and participate in these events. You will not find a better avenue to commence your career as an auctioneer (if starting out) or grow as an auctioneer if already out there doing it. I\‘m sure everyone who participated learnt a lot from the experience, as you are forced to focus on every aspect of your call.”
A big thank you to Phil for putting on a well run competition last night. Not an easy feat scripting bidding and making sure all runs smoothly!
